When are Extractions Necessary?

After Tooth Extraction
You play a big role in ensuring a healthy and speedy recovery from tooth extraction. It is important to follow all post-procedure instructions to reduce the chance of complications.
One of the most crucial steps of the healing process is protecting the blood clot that forms over your extraction site. Blood clots cover the exposed nerves and prevent complications like dry socket. If you are prescribed an antibiotic, please take the medication as directed and do not stop before the prescription is complete. Certain side effects like swelling are normal, especially in the first few days. However, if you develop a high fever or pus around the extraction site, please call us.
